No, you don't need a referral to see one of our practitioners if you are paying privately.  However you will be asked to fill out our referral intake form which allows us to allocate you the right practitioner for the services you are requiring.

Referrals are required when:
 

Medicare:

Clients claiming the Medicare rebate require a referral from a General Pracitioner, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist before attending the initial appointment.

DVA:
Clients seeking therapy paid for by DVA require a referral from a General Pracitioner, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist before attending the initial appointment.

TAC:
Clients seeking therapy paid for by TAC require a referral from a General Pracitioner, Case Manager or Psychiatrist before attending the initial appointment.

Work cover:

Clients claiming the workcover rebate require a referral from a General Pracitioner, case manager, employer or Psychiatrist before attending the initial appointment. Invoices can be billed directly to the employer or insurance. 

Alternatively clients can pay for the appointment and send the receipt to their employer for reimbursement.

Payment is required at the conclusion of the appointment. All invoices must be paid before reports are released.

 

Payment options available: EFT, Direct Debit, Cheque, Cash or through insurance.

You will need to bring in with you your service agreement and consent form. If you have a Medicare/DVA referral or NDIS plan that hasn't already been provided to our team please bring this along as you will need it to be eligible for a rebate.

 

If  there is anything else you require for the visit or assessment a team member will tell you when booking your appointment.

Yes, Barwon OT are happy to see clients in our consult room, in the community, your school, workplace or at your home. 

 

Barwon OT sees clients ​in Surfcoast Shire, Bellarine Peninsula, City of Greater Geelong, Colac, Bannockburn and Lara.  If you are not sure if we see clients in your area, please contact our admin team and they will be able to advise.
